Today, July 11, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for the poor who live near toxic industries.
Many poor communities are forced to live near polluted factories, contaminated rivers, landfills, or dangerous industrial zones.
They breathe unhealthy air, drink unsafe water, and suffer illnesses caused by systems that value profit over human life.
As Vincentians, we hear both the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth. We cannot separate environmental justice from human dignity.
We pray today for communities harmed by environmental neglect and exploitation. May leaders choose responsibility over greed, and may vulnerable families be protected from further harm.
Word of God
“The Lord hears the cry of the poor.”
(Psalm 34:6)
Prayer
God of life, defend those who suffer from pollution and injustice. Help us build a world where no community is treated as disposable. Amen.
