The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: July 7, 2026

Today, July 7, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for peace among neighbors in areas of gang violence.

Violence destroys trust between neighbors and turns streets into places of fear.
Children grow up hearing gunshots instead of laughter, and families live trapped between silence and survival.
As Vincentians, we believe peace begins locally—in homes, neighborhoods, and daily relationships.
We pray today for communities affected by gang violence: may dialogue overcome fear, and solidarity become stronger than hatred.

Word of God
“Seek peace and pursue it.”
(Psalm 34:14)

Prayer
God of reconciliation, heal divided neighborhoods and protect vulnerable families. Help communities rediscover trust, hope, and the courage to choose peace. Amen.

On this same day, we also celebrate the foundation of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph (Sisters of the Choorstraat), a Catholic religious Congregation founded on July 7, 1820, in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, under the guidance of Father Antonius Heeren. Beginning in a house on the Choorstraat, the Sisters responded to the needs of poor and vulnerable people through education, care, and Christian formation. Rooted in devotion to Mary and Joseph and inspired by Vincentian charity, they grew into a community of humble, practical Gospel service.
