The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: July 1, 2026

Today, July 1, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for protection against manipulation in religious communities.

Faith should never be used to control, intimidate, or silence others. Yet some people experience spiritual manipulation, fear, or abuse within communities that should reflect God’s love and freedom.

Saint Vincent taught that true Christian leadership is rooted in humility, service, and respect for conscience.

We pray today for healing for those harmed by unhealthy religious environments, and for wisdom and integrity among spiritual leaders. May every community of faith become a place of truth, transparency, and compassion.

    Word of God
“For freedom Christ has set us free.”
    (Galatians 5:1)

    Prayer
God of truth, protect Your people from every form of spiritual abuse. Purify our communities, and make the Church a safe home where faith can grow in freedom and love. Amen.

On this same day, we also celebrate the foundation of the New Evangelization Sisters of Mother of Perpetual Help, a Catholic women’s congregation founded in 1993 in Nigeria’s Diocese of Issele-Uku by Bishop Anthony Okonkwo Gbuji. Inspired by Saint John Paul II’s call to new evangelization, they serve through catechesis, direct evangelization, prayer, and joyful Gospel witness among God’s people.”
