Eight Pre-Novices Enter the Novitiate of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and Begin a New Journey with God
The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth at Patna, India joyfully celebrated the Entrance to Novitiate ceremony for eight pre-novices on May 13, 2026, in a prayerful atmosphere. During the solemn prayer service, Latika Kottuppallil, SCN, provincial, formally welcomed the candidates into the novitiate.
The newly initiated novices are Anuja Kindo, Arti Lakra, Ila Punita Toppo, Joptimery Sangriang, Rojlin Beck, Sunila Marandi, Tamanna Kujur, and Tamanna Tirkey. Sisters, novices, and pre-novices gathered to thank God for the gift of vocation and to surround the new novices with prayer and blessings as they entered this important stage of religious formation.
The theme of the prayer service, “Potter and Clay,” reflected the meaning of novitiate formation. Inspired by Jeremiah 18:1-6, the reflections focused on God as the Divine Potter who shapes, molds, and strengthens each person according to God’s purpose. Through prayer, community life, discernment, and mission, the novices are invited to place themselves in God’s hands and grow in simplicity, humility, and charity.
Special prayers were offered for the Church, the Congregation, formators, vocations, and the newly received novices. The celebration concluded with a meal shared by all. The novices also offered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to God, the Leadership teams, formators, teachers, and Sisters for their guidance, encouragement, and support.
