On this same day, we celebrate the foundation of the Sisters of St. Vincent de Paul of Deftinge, established in 1832 in Belgium. Rooted in the Vincentian charism of service to the poor and marginalized, the cCongregation began with a mission to care for the sick and educate children in rural communities. Their simple lifestyle, deep faith, and commitment to those in need made them a vital presence in local parishes and hospitals. Over time, their work expanded to include elder care and other forms of social outreach, continuing their legacy of humble, loving service in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul.
