Today, May 9, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for communities burdened by ecological destruction.
Toxic air, droughts, floods, rising seas—entire neighborhoods are sinking under the weight of human irresponsibility.
As Vincentians, we stand with the poor, who suffer first and most from climate crises.
We pray today for environmental justice and community resilience. May creation be respected, and repair begin.
Word of God
“They shall build houses and inhabit them… They shall not labor in vain.”
(Isaiah 65:21–23)
Prayer
God of life, renew the face of the earth. Heal our lands, strengthen communities, and awaken in us the will to change. Amen.
On this same day, we joyfully celebrate the feast of Saint Louise de Marillac, a woman of remarkable faith and courage who co-founded the Daughters of Charity alongside Saint Vincent de Paul. Born in 1591 in France, Louise dedicated her life to serving the poor, the sick, and the marginalized, transforming charity into organized and effective love in action. With a heart rooted in prayer and an unshakable trust in Divine Providence, she inspired countless women to live a life of humility, simplicity, and service. Her vision gave rise to a new form of religious life—women serving God among the people rather than behind cloistered walls. Canonized in 1934, Saint Louise continues to be a guiding light for all who seek to find Christ in the poor and suffering.
