Today, May 3, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for people with disabilities to be fully included in society.
Disability is not a weakness—it is part of the richness of our shared humanity.
Yet many still face barriers in accessibility, participation, and respect.
We pray today for a world where everyone belongs, where all abilities are honored, and where the Church and society truly welcome all.
Word of God
“The parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable.”
(1 Corinthians 12:22)
Prayer
God of inclusion, tear down every barrier of exclusion. May we open our hearts, communities, and structures so that all may fully belong. Amen.
On this same day, we celebrate the foundation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Mary, established in 1871, in Turin, Italy, founded by Mother Marie Louise Angélique Clarac, a former Daughter of Charity devoted to Vincentian service and education. Inspired by her compassionate vision, the Sisters established kindergartens, schools, clinics, and pastoral programs for youth and the ill. From their Italian origins, the Congregation expanded internationally—reaching Argentina, Canada, the United States, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, and Peru—offering education and care rooted in humility, simplicity, and generosity. Today nearly they continue to serve children, families, the elderly, and the sick, living out the Vincentian call to be the living presence of Christ’s charity.
