Today, April 30, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for those rebuilding after economic collapse.

Unemployment, inflation, and debt have shattered lives in many countries.

To start over takes courage—and help.

We pray today for families, workers, and entire communities trying to recover dignity and hope after economic devastation.

Word of God
“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.”
(Psalm 113:7)

Prayer
Lord of the lowly, lift those who have lost everything. Inspire us to build economies of justice where all can thrive again. Amen.

On this same day, we also joyfully celebrate the feast of St. Giuseppe Benedetto Cottolengo, a priest of extraordinary compassion who devoted his life to serving the poorest, the sick, and those abandoned by society. Born in Italy in 1786, he responded to a profound call from God after witnessing a poor woman die without medical care. In 1832, he founded the Little House of Divine Providence in Turin, which grew into a vast community offering care to the most vulnerable—regardless of age, condition, or circumstance. Trusting entirely in Divine Providence, he never asked for money, believing God would provide through generous hearts. Today, the work of the Cottolengo family—priests, Sisters, Brothers, and lay collaborators—continues his legacy of joyful charity and radical hospitality toward those society often forgets.
