The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: April 29, 2026

by .famvin | Apr 29, 2026 | The Vincentian Family Daily Intention

Today, April 29, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for healthcare justice in underfunded regions.

In many places, the sick suffer without medicine, doctors, or even clean water.

As Vincentians, we affirm that every person deserves care and dignity—no matter where they live.

We pray today for healthcare systems in crisis, and for those working with few resources, but nonetheless with great compassion.

    Word of God
“He had compassion on them and healed their sick.”
    (Matthew 14:14)

    Prayer
Jesus, Healer of all, strengthen caregivers in forgotten places. May justice and healing reach every corner of the earth. Amen.

On this same day, we also celebrate:
—The foundation of the Brothers of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Maastricht, established in 1837 in the Netherlands. Founded by Father Guillaume Joseph Chèvremont, the Congregation was created to provide Christian education to poor and rural children. Deeply rooted in Marian devotion and simplicity of life, the Brothers expanded their mission to include care for orphans, vocational training, and missionary work. Their commitment to forming minds and hearts in the spirit of the Gospel continues today through educational and social ministries in various parts of the world.
—The foundation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Charles Borromeo of Maastricht, established in 1837 in the Netherlands. Founded by Bishop Joannes Augustinus Paredis, the Congregation was created to care for the sick, educate poor children, and serve the most vulnerable in society. Inspired by the spirit of St. Charles Borromeo and rooted in deep trust in Divine Providence, the Sisters embraced a life of simplicity, compassion, and service. Over time, their mission expanded beyond the Netherlands to include ministries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, continuing their legacy of mercy and healing across the globe.
—The foundation of the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity, established in 1921 by Fr. Thomas Augustine Judge, C.M., in the United States. Rooted in the Vincentian spirit and born from the lay Missionary Cenacle Apostolate, this Congregation of priests and Brothers is dedicated to preserving and spreading the Catholic faith, especially among the poor and spiritually neglected. Their missionary work focuses on forming lay apostles, serving marginalized communities, and promoting social justice throughout the Americas and the Caribbean. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and evangelization, they continue to witness to God’s love through service, faith, and community outreach.
