Today, April 20, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for the homeless during extreme weather conditions.
Cold, heat, storms… for those without shelter, every day is a survival test.
To be homeless is to have no protection, no privacy, no rest—and to be invisible to many.
We pray today for those who sleep on the streets. May they find shelter, dignity, and a path toward a better life.
Word of God
“I was a stranger and you welcomed me… I was naked and you clothed me.”
(Matthew 25:35–36)
Prayer
Lord who became poor, shelter those without a home. Inspire us to open our doors, to act with justice, and to become shelter for one another. Amen.
On this same day, we also joyfully celebrate the feast of Blessed Chiara Bosatta, a woman of deep humility and radiant charity who dedicated her life to serving the poorest in northern Italy. Born Dina Bosatta in 1858, she felt called to religious life from an early age and, alongside Blessed Luigi Guanella, co-founded the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence. Taking the name Sister Chiara, she cared for orphans, the sick, and the elderly, embodying the compassionate heart of Christ through simple, tireless service. Despite her fragile health and early death at just 41, her joyful spirit and unwavering faith left a lasting legacy of love. On her feast day, we remember and honor her gentle yet powerful witness to God’s providence and mercy among the most forgotten.
