Today, April 8, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for cities to be inclusive, safe, and compassionate.
Cities can be places of opportunity—or exclusion. The poor are often pushed to the margins, unseen amid the noise and pace of urban life.
As Vincentians, we are called to see Christ in the streets and alleys, in crowded apartments and shelter lines. A city is holy when it welcomes the stranger, protects the weak, and plans for justice.
We pray today for urban leaders, architects, and neighbors. May they work for cities that are accessible, clean, and centered on the dignity of every person.
Word of God
“Seek the welfare of the city… and pray to the Lord on its behalf.”
(Jeremiah 29:7)
Prayer
God of the city and the village, be present in our neighborhoods. May our cities be places of encounter, not exclusion—places where Your reign of love can flourish. Amen.
