Seeing Christ in the Face of the Poor

The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: April 6, 2026

Today, April 6, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for artisans and workers whose crafts are undervalued.

The hands of workers shape the world. Artisans preserve culture, skill, and beauty—yet many are forgotten, underpaid, or pushed aside in a market that prizes mass production over meaning.

As Vincentians, we are called to honor the dignity of work and the value of every worker. Saint Vincent recognized the sacredness of labor, especially when offered humbly and for the good of others.

We pray today for artisans, manual laborers, and craftspeople whose quiet excellence enriches our lives. May their gifts be recognized, and their rights respected.

Word of God
“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; establish the work of our hands for us.”
(Psalm 90:17)

Prayer
God of creation, You shaped the world through loving hands. Bless all who work with skill and heart. May their labor be valued and their lives protected. Amen.

On this same day, we celebrate the foundation of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, established in 1947. Born in the heart of Vietnam’s Central Highlands, this indigenous congregation was founded to serve the unique needs of ethnic minority communities, especially women, through a deeply Marian and Vincentian spirit. Inspired by the love of the Virgin Mary and the message of the Miraculous Medal, the sisters commit themselves to being signs of Christ’s presence among the poor, the sick, and the marginalized. Their charism is centered on living the Gospel with simplicity, humility, and joy, walking alongside those who suffer and bringing hope where despair threatens to take root. With prayer as their foundation and service as their mission, the Sisters of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal continue to shine quietly and faithfully in remote villages—offering education, healthcare, and spiritual accompaniment as living witnesses of God’s merciful love.
