The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: April 1, 2026
Today, April 1, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for the protection of sacred lands and indigenous traditions.
The land is not merely soil—it is memory, identity, and spirit. For Indigenous communities, the earth is sacred, passed down through generations as a place of life, culture, and divine presence. Today, these lands are threatened by deforestation, mining, and economic interests that ignore their spiritual and human significance.
As Vincentians, we are called to stand with the poor and with creation. Saint Vincent invites us to recognize the face of Christ in those who are most often ignored—including those whose traditions preserve harmony with the earth.
We pray today that sacred lands be respected, and indigenous wisdom listened to. May we promote a world where development never comes at the expense of dignity or desecration.
Word of God
“The land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers.”
(Leviticus 25:23)
Prayer
Creator God, You shaped the earth in beauty and entrusted it to all peoples. Defend those who protect sacred lands and lifeways. Teach us to walk gently, to listen humbly, and to honor what is holy. Amen.
