Seeing Christ in the Face of the Poor

The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: March 8, 2026

On March 8, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for parents raising children in contexts of poverty and fear.

Many mothers and fathers struggle daily to provide food, safety, and a future for their children amid violence or insecurity.

Saint Vincent and Saint Louise offered support and protection to vulnerable families. We are called to do the same.

We pray for strength, support, and hope for struggling parents. May they never feel alone in their mission.

Word of God
“Like a shepherd, he tends his flock… he gently leads those that have young.”
(Isaiah 40:11)

Prayer
God of tenderness, bless all parents raising children in hardship. Strengthen their hearts, and help us build a world where families can thrive. Amen.

On this same day, we also joyfully celebrate the foundation of the Sons of St. Louise de Marillac in the Holy Spirit, established in 1998, a Society of Apostolic Life rooted in the Vincentian spirituality of St. Louise de Marillac. Born in La Rita de Pococí, Limón, Costa Rica, this community of consecrated men carries out a vibrant mission among the poorest and most abandoned. Their apostolate includes rural evangelization, care for the homeless and elderly, and any work of mercy that arises along their journey. Deeply missionary, contemplative, Marian, Eucharistic, and merciful, they seek to live in constant prayer and action—bringing the love of Christ where no one else dares to go, and radiating the Divine Mercy through both word and deed.
