The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: January 14, 2026
On January 14, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for farmers and workers who feed the world but often go hungry themselves.
Behind every meal on our tables are the hands of farmers and laborers—often poor, forgotten, and underpaid. They till the land, care for the animals, and sustain us, yet many struggle to survive themselves.
Saint Vincent identified with rural peasants and workers crushed by injustice. He urged that charity must also address structures that oppress and exploit.
We pray for those who produce our food in harsh conditions, who face climate challenges, debt, and displacement. May they be justly rewarded and supported. May we build systems that value people over profit and protect the earth that feeds us all.
Word of God
“You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall go well with you.”
(Psalm 128:2)
Prayer
Lord of the harvest, bless those who work the land and feed the world. Give them fair wages, just policies, and supportive communities. Let our gratitude for their labor be expressed in action and advocacy. May no one who feeds others go hungry themselves. Amen.
