The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: January 12, 2026

On January 12, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for those who suffer from addictions and those helping them recover.

Addiction—whether to substances, habits, or behaviors—can enslave a person’s body and spirit. It wounds relationships, shatters dignity, and isolates the heart in deep lonelinessn but healing is possible, and every journey toward recovery is sacred.

Saint Vincent de Paul believed in the transforming power of love, perseverance, and community. As Vincentians, we are called to walk with those who struggle—without judgment, with faith in their capacity to rise.

We pray for those caught up in addiction’s grip, and for those in recovery. For families in anguish, for caregivers and counselors. May our society replace shame with support, punishment with compassion, and despair with hope.

Word of God
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
(Matthew 11:28)

Prayer
Healing God, reach those trapped in addiction with Your saving love. Strengthen all who walk the road of recovery, and bless those who guide them with wisdom and mercy. Make us signs of hope in the lives of the broken. Through Christ, who restores the lost. Amen.

On this same day, we also joyfully celebrate the feast of Blessed Pierre-François Jamet, a devoted French priest known for his heroic fidelity during the French Revolution and for revitalizing the Sisters of the Congregation of the Holy Infant Jesus. Born in 1762 and beatified in 1987, he remained faithful to the Church despite persecution, and his pastoral zeal, especially for the poor and the deaf, earned him the title “Apostle of the Deaf.” His life stands as a powerful witness to courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel.
