The Vincentian Family Daily Intention: January 8, 2026

by | Jan 8, 2026 | Reflections, The Vincentian Family Daily Intention | 0 comments

On January 8, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for people living with mental illness or emotional distress.

Mental suffering often remains hidden—misunderstood, stigmatized, or ignored. Yet Christ is especially close to those who struggle in silence, in darkness, in despair.

As Vincentians, we are called not only to care for physical needs, but to offer healing presence, deep listening, and compassion to those experiencing psychological and emotional pain. Saint Vincent believed in caring for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

We pray for all who live with anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental burdens. May they find hope, accompaniment, and professional help. May we be communities that welcome them with tenderness and without judgment.

Word of God
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.”
(Psalm 34:18)

Prayer
God of consolation, hold close Your children who suffer mentally and emotionally. Be their light in the darkness and restore their inner peace. Help us be companions on their journey—gentle, patient, and faithful. Through Christ, the healer of our hearts. Amen.
