On January 5, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for victims of human trafficking and modern slavery.

Hidden in plain sight, millions of people—especially women and children—are trafficked and exploited for labor, sex, and profit. Their freedom is stolen, their dignity violated. They cry out for justice, for rescue, for healing.

Saint Vincent lived in a time when slavery and exploitation abounded. Yet he believed in the sacredness of every human person, and his heart broke open to serve those held captive. As Vincentians today, we are called to continue this struggle for liberation and dignity.

We pray for those trapped in slavery, often unseen and unheard. May God bring light to the shadows and expose every system that profits from suffering. May we have the courage to speak out, to protect, and to restore.

Prayer
God of freedom, hear the cries of those enslaved and abused. Break the chains of injustice and heal their wounds. Strengthen all who work to end trafficking and exploitation. Through the power of Your Spirit, may we build a world where every life is respected and no one is treated as a commodity. Amen.
