On January 1, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for true peace in our wounded world.
We begin this new year with hopeful hearts, yet we cannot ignore the pain around us—wars, forced migration, economic injustice, social division, and exclusion. As Vincentians, we are called to resist indifference. Saint Vincent taught us that peace begins where the poor are welcomed, where hands reach out, and bridges are built instead of walls.
We pray today for a peace that is more than the absence of violence—a peace rooted in justice, compassion, and honest dialogue. A peace that flows from the Gospel and takes shape in our concrete actions: in reconciling communities, in healing wounds, and in listening to the voices of those ignored.
May the Prince of Peace make us instruments of His Kingdom—humble servants, faithful sowers of fraternity and hope. Every small act of love is already the beginning of God’s peace.
Word of God
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”
(Matthew 5:9)
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, make us builders of reconciliation. Let Your Spirit guide us to serve the suffering with tenderness, and let our daily lives help shape a world where love reigns. May the Vincentian Family be, today and always, a living sign of Your peace. Amen.
