William, the husband of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, is buried under a small gravestone in front of this church, alongside his dear friend Antonio Filicchi. In 2004, the remains of William Seton were transferred from the old English cemetery to the Church of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Livorno and dedicated with a religious ceremony.
