Between July and August of 1853, the doctors recommended a move to Antignano, where “the best society in Florence, Pisa, Siena, and Leghorn [Livorno] spent those months.” It would be Ozanam’s last abode in Italy. Until the end of July, Frédéric found the strength to walk to Mass in the morning and to the sea in the evening, although each walk exhausted him.
