Why This Contest?

This year, the Vincentian Family Office celebrates its 10th anniversary, and we want to celebrate with you — young Vincentians from every part of the world — in a way that’s creative, meaningful, and connected to who we are as a family.

Through this video contest, we invite you to tell the story of a Saint or Blessed of the Vincentian Family, not just as someone from the past, but as someone who still speaks to us today. These saints made bold decisions, stood beside the poor, challenged injustice, and gave their lives to love — and so can you. There, you’ll find a beautifully crafted e‑book featuring concise, uplifting biographies in English, Spanish, and French.

The theme of our contest is simple but powerful:

“Saints Alive Today!”

What does that mean to you? What message would a Vincentian saint bring to today’s world of poverty, conflict, inequality, and hope?

This is your chance to speak that message — with your voice, your camera, your creativity.

Why Your Voice Matters

St. Vincent de Paul began asking two deep questions as a young man:
“Who is Jesus?” and “How do I follow Him?”
Those questions led him to a powerful discovery: Jesus lives in the poor.
That discovery changed his life. And through him, it changed the lives of many others — including us.

Today, the Vincentian Charism is still alive because people like you keep asking the same questions.
Who is Jesus in today’s world? Where is He found in today’s suffering? How do we serve Him now?

You, the youth of the Vincentian Family, are not the future. You are the present voice of compassion, justice, creativity, and faith. Your dreams, your struggles, your art — they matter. They help all of us see the world more clearly and love it more deeply.

That’s why this contest isn’t just about making videos.
It’s about making space for your voice in the mission of the Church and the Vincentian Family.

What is the Vincentian Charism?

The Vincentian Charism is a gift from the Holy Spirit to the world through Saint Vincent and those who follow his path. It’s not just an idea. It’s a way of life. It’s about:

• Seeing Christ in the poor
• Serving with love and humility
• Fighting injustice with hope
• Building community across differences
• Living simply, joyfully, and courageously

Over time, the Holy Spirit has raised up men and women — some known, many unknown — who lived this charism radically in different parts of the world. The Saints and Blessed of the Vincentian Family are a sign of that ongoing story. Their lives were revolutionary, and they continue to challenge us today.

They weren’t perfect. But they were passionate. They dared to believe in a different world.
They walked with the poor. And now they walk with us.

So what are we asking from you?

We’re asking you to:

• Tell their story in a short video (3–5 minutes).
• Show us how their message is still alive today.
• Be honest. Be creative. Be bold.

Deadline for video submissions: October 15.

This Is More Than a Contest

This is a celebration of who we are as a global Vincentian Family — diverse, united, young, and faithful.
It’s a chance to show that the Vincentian charism isn’t something of the past.
It’s here. It’s now. And it’s in you.

Whether you use animation, drama, poetry, music, or documentary style — let the world hear what’s burning in your heart. Let your video be a spark of justice, of faith, of transformation.

And who knows? Maybe your video will inspire someone else to serve.
Maybe it will awaken a new vocation.
Maybe it will remind someone that God has not forgotten them.

There will be prizes…

Yes! Prizes will be awarded to the top three submissions.

• First prize: $1,500
• Second prize: $1,000
• Third prize: $500

But even more than that:
Your voice, your vision, and your video may be shared across the entire Vincentian world — thousands of people who, like you, believe that faith and action go hand in hand.
