This June 2025, the international Vincentian Family prepares to celebrate a very special milestone: the 10th anniversary of the Vincentian Family Office, founded on the Solemnity of Pentecost in 2015. Fr. Joseph V. Agostino, CM, who has led this ministry from the beginning, shares with gratitude and emotion the journey lived over this decade of service to the Vincentian charism across the world.

This anniversary will be commemorated on Saturday, November 22, in an event that will also serve as a farewell to his time as Executive Director of the Office. In a spirit of communion, Fr. Agostino invites all of us to join the celebration — whether in person or through prayer.

This special moment is not only a time to look back and give thanks, but also an opportunity to renew our commitment to the mission that unites us: to make Christ’s love present through service to those most in need.

Dear Sisters and Brothers of the Vincentian Family,

On Sunday, 8 June, we gathered as a Church to complete this year’s Easter celebration as we again felt the Lord breathe his Spirit of peace into us and into our world. This is the greatest gift God can give us – God’s Own Spirit – and it is in the power of this gift that we live our Vincentian Charism, proclaiming to all the corners of the earth: Jesus Christ is Lord!  He is risen! His victory is mine! Alleluia!

Pentecost has a special significance for me.  For it was on this Feast, which fell on 24 May 2015, that the Vincentian Family Office was born. That moment marked the beginning of an amazing journey for me, one for which I will always be grateful to God and to all the faith-filled Vincentians of every nation that I have met in this ministry.   And now, after these 10 years of service, I will be leaving the Office toward the end of this year.

At another time soon, I would like to share with you some of my reflections about our international Family. But for now, I simply share the following with you.

On Saturday, November 22nd, beginning at 2:00 PM, there will be a Vincentian Family celebration for the 10th Anniversary of the founding of the Office and a farewell for yours truly.  More information will be made public about this soon.  I know that being present is not practical for many of you, but I would be tremendously honored if you could join us and I want you to know that you are warmly invited. And joining us in prayer is greatly appreciated.

Come January I hope to take a sabbatical – my first one in 42 years of priesthood!  I am looking forward to it!

Please pray for me, as I do you, that we may not grow weary in the Lord’s vineyard where we are united by our shared Charism.
