In just two minutes, he shares the key takeaways from the “Keep the Fire Burning” meeting held in Rome last November, where members of the Vincentian Family gathered to renew their commitment to serving the poor.
Discover how this gathering became a profound call to action— reminding us to see Christ in the faces of those in need and to serve them with radical love and dedication. Guillermo also reflects on the powerful message from Pope Francis during the Eighth World Day of the Poor: true charity is given with presence, eye contact, and heartfelt compassion.
May this message inspire us to deepen our commitment to the Vincentian mission. Blessings to all!

My brothers and sisters in Christ and in the Vincentian charism, I extend to you a warm embrace and fraternal greetings from the city of Medellin, Colombia. This is Guillermo Bolivar, from the “Aguapaneleros de la noche” Foundation, a Vincentian branch. In just two minutes I would like to share with you the goal of the meeting we had last November in the city of Rome, where most of the branches that are part of the Vincentian Family participated. The meeting was entitled “Keep the fire burning” and it was like a great motivation, a great opportunity, a blessing, I would say, to be able to learn, to be able to share, to be able to listen and to socialize, and [to know] the different missions that we carry out in the different places of the world where Vincentians are present. We were invited to commit ourselves, to take on and to look at the future outlook of working with the poor, a commitment that must be radical and a commitment that must lead us to discover the face of Christ in the faces of the poor we work with. We also had the opportunity to attend the Eucharist with the Holy Father, Pope Francis, on the Eighth World Day of the Poor. Pope Francis was very concerned about us not forgetting the poor. In this not forgetting the poor, in this constant work that we must have as Christians, as baptized and as Vincentians with the poor, we must show certain characteristics, live certain characteristics, for example the Pope told us that those who give alms must do it looking into the eyes of the poor, touching the poor. In other words, the Pope invited us to really commit ourselves from the heart and that what we do for the poor we do it from the heart. A big hug and blessings to all.
