Celebrating Blessed Rosalie Rendu’s Legacy Through Global Charity

by | Feb 7, 2025 | Homelessness, News

As we celebrate the Feast of Blessed Rosalie Rendu, we honour her legacy of charity and service. A true disciple of Saint Vincent de Paul, she dedicated her life to the poor and guided the founders of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) in their service to the marginalised. Today, in that same Vincentian spirit, two forces within the Vincentian Family— the SSVP and the Famvin Homeless Alliance— are working together through the “13 Houses” Campaign to support homeless people worldwide. This initiative embodies the mission that Rosalie Rendu and Frederic Ozanam lived by: embracing the poor in a network of charity.

In honouring Blessed Rosalie Rendu’s extraordinary legacy, we are happy to share our latest video documenting the collaboration between the FHA and the SSVP. This collaboration spans 14 nations, transforming lives from the Pacific to Africa, from the Americas to Eastern Europe. The video captures powerful testimonials from people whose lives have been dramatically changed: stories of survivors escaping domestic violence and families finding stable housing and communities gaining access to basic necessities like clean water and sanitary facilities…

Watch the video here:

This initiative is more than providing homes—it’s about building a global community where no one is left behind.

Stay tuned! New videos showcasing collaborations between the Famvin Homeless Alliance through its “13 Houses” Campaign and other Vincentian Family branches will be released soon strengthening our global mission to serve those experiencing homelessness.

Happy Feast of Blessed Rosalie Rendu!
