Journey Through Lent With Saints Vincent and Louise (March 14)

Today’s quote:

Today I was reading the reflection of a saint, who says that openness to God’s Will is the height of holiness, the sum of all virtues, and the destruction of vices. Openness to God’s Will must necessarily be akin to the nature of perfect love, for it’s an activity of love, inclining the heart to all that’s better and destroying everything that keeps it from this, like fire, which not only aims at its center, but consumes everything that holds it back. So my dear confreres, if openness to God’s Will detaches our hearts from earth, they’ll be afire with the practice of the Will of God. When they stop loving other things, they will necessarily be filled with God’s love. It’s in this sense that openness to God’s Will is the source of all virtues and the death of all vices.

Vincent de Paul (Volume: 12 | Page#: 188) Indifference, 15 May, 1659

Am I really open to God’s will?

This is my desire each day, not only to know the will of God but also the grace to do His will.
