Postcards from Folleville
In an article in the Vincentian Heritage Journal, Father John Rybolt, C.M. provided a history of Folleville, France, and especially its church, the place where a transformative moment in the life of St. Vincent took place. There, in a sermon on January 25, 1617, St. Vincent proposed to all the faithful of Folleville the idea to go to the priests and make a general confession of their lives. St. Vincent’s realization of spiritual poverty at Folleville set the stage for popular missions and the founding of the Congregation of the Mission.
Take a tour of the village and church of Folleville in the presentation below, based on Fr. Rybolt’s article.
