After the liturgical celebration of Morning Prayer, the Assembly began its final work at 9:30 hours. The delegates invoked the Holy Spirit (in Ukrainian).
Father Giuseppe TURATI, secretary-general, made an announcement about documents that had to be signed by the delegates and other information of interest to the delegates. Then, Father Hugo VERA provided the delegates with information about the Office of Communication of the Congregation of the Mission and the various channels and social networks that can be utilized.
The secretary of the Assembly presented the Minutes of July 14th, which were approved unanimously.
Father Daniel PILARIO, in the name of the Synthesis Commission, presented the text that had been developed as the Final Document and included references to the message that Pope Francis delivered during the audience of July 14th.
Then, the Superior General, Father Tomaž Mavrič, addressed the Assembly and proposed that the document developed by the Synthesis Commission be approved … the document was approved.
A video about the ministry of the Province of Ethiopia was presented … this video was focused on ministry in the School for the Deaf.
After the break and some announcements, four videos were presented. First, the Province of France and its missions ad gentes narrating the ministries of the various missionaries; second, the Easter Province of the United States and its ministry at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on behalf of immigrants; third, the Vice-Province of Mozambique, formation ministry, evangeliztion and other social ministries; fourth, the Region of Rwanda-Burundi which described the growth of the Congregation of the Mission in that region. This was followed by a dialogue and an evaluation of the Assembly. At the conclusion of those comments, the Superior General, Father Tomaž Mavrič, thanked the delegates, their local communities and their provinces for the participation and contribution to the various services on behalf of the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentian Family and the Church. He thanked the delegates for their participation and dedication, for their work on the various commissions and for services that have been provided to the members of this Assembly by so many persons. Father Tomaž Mavrič reminded everyone that the celebration of the Eucharist will take place at 17:30 hours and that at 19:30 hours there will be a fraternal gathering on the patio and food will be served in picnic style. Then, Father Tomaž Mavrič then asked the delegates if they felt that all the matters had been discussed and that the Assembly could be formally concluded. A resounding standing applause from the delegates expressed the sentiments of the delegates.
At the invitation of the Superior General, the delegates joined together in praying in their own language, the Our Father and the Hail, Mary. Thus, the work of the XLIII General Assembly of the Congregation of the Mission was concluded. Blessed be the name of the Lord!!
