Five speakers will discuss these issues, followed by a Q&A session.

On Sunday, May 23rd, the Council General International (CGI) of the Society of Saint Vicent de Paul is hosting a two-hour webinar “Pandemic, Poverty and the Future,” starting at 1 pm (Paris’ time).

The webinar will be broadcast on Facebook’s Ozanam TV, with simultaneous interpreting into the four official languages:

Each speaker will make a 15-minute presentation, followed by a debate among speakers. Viewers will have the chance to leave comments and pose questions to speakers in real time.

This online event is an initiative launched by the International Commission for Formation, chaired by our member Marisa Téllez (Spain). The goal of this webinar is to to present and to discuss proposals that will enhance the Society’s global ministry, especially in light of the fact that many of our Conferences, Councils and charitable works have been adversely effected by the pandemic.

Marisa Téllez, who will also be the moderator of this event, stated: In addition to the health crisis, the pandemic has increased social and economic inequalities. SSVP members need to prepare themselves for a post-pandemic world … and this will naturally entail more work and greater participation, which is the goal of this webinar: concrete ideas to tackle poverty in the years to come”.

Join in! Don’t miss this opportunity for formation, provided by the CGI.
