Vincentian Prayer Images: Walking Through Each Day with St. Vincent VII

by | Apr 27, 2021 | Formation, Reflections

Here is another in our series of “Praying Our Heritage.” The series illustrates quotes from key figures in the Vincentian Heritage.

Let the image and the quote sink in, and take root. These images might surprise you into prayer at various points in your day.

Walking through each day with St. Vincent

St. Vincent told the Daughters of Charity: “Always begin all your prayers by an act of the presence of God; otherwise, an action will sometimes fail to be pleasing to Him. You see, Sisters, even though we don’t see God, faith teaches us that His holy presence is everywhere, and this is one of the means we should propose to ourselves— I mean His presence in all places, permeating everything, even the very depths of our hearts. This is even more true than the thought that we’re all here present because our eyes may deceive us, but the truth that God is everywhere will never deceive us.”

Whatever your morning routine— if you like to exercise or take a walk, you can pray as you go. If you drive to work, it could be a good time to pray in the car. Or turn on a religious radio station. Take a break from always rushing around with music blaring.

For the more visually oriented among us, you don’t have to wait for the weekly image on Tuesday. You can browse for yourself. You can even search for images related to key words. Visit and search VinFormation’s database of prayer images.

We hope you will enjoy these time-release prayer capsules!

We would also welcome you sharing with all of us images that inspired you to prayer.
