The Joy of Serving · #IamVincent

Today is the 207th SCN Foundation Day, when Sisters of Charity of Nazareth remember their foundress Catherine Spalding and her early followers.

From a prayer found on their website: “Bless us with the gift of courage… To embrace the darkness and pain of the journey, To stand in love with those who suffer and ache on life’s journey. Carve into the canyons of our hearts your faithful love.”

A beautiful example:

“Every day, I learn from the people that I serve. I learn, and I’m inspired by the courage that parents have, the perseverance they have. I think what supports me also is a strong local community where we pray together, we share our days and our trials and our tribulations, and our celebrations.”

Thank you Sr Bev for your loving practical witness to the disabled in Belize. You are surely “carved into the canyons” of the hearts of the children and their families.
