On September 25, 2019 Father Flavio Pereira visited Miami, Florida.

As a representative of the International Office of the Vincentian family, he accompanied the inauguration of the third branch of the Vincentian family: The Ladies of Charity/AIC of Miami.

We celebrated the feast of St. Vincent de Paul for the first time with the SSVP, the Daughters of Charity and the Ladies of Charity/AIC.

Father Flavio visited the SSVP food back, where more than 500 vulnerable families are served each month. He also visited the Saint Vincent De Paul thrift store where their proceeds are directed to support the needs of the poor through parish conferences.

During his visit, he met with some members of the SSVP, Ladies of Charity, and with the Daughters of Charity, who in 2021 will celebrate 50 years of missionary work on Miami.

Particularly serving thousands of Cuban families that left the island and migrated to this country.

In a city of contrasting cultures, we hope to continue serving those most in need.

The pictures are lovely, so good to see such a happy group of ‘Vincentians’. The smiles and the beautiful expressions on each face tell me how much you value your work. God bless you all & Congratulations to the Daughters of Charity in Miami for your dedicated service and celebrating your 50th Anniversary.

(I am a ‘Vincentian’ too for more than 40 years here in Western Australia).
