SSVP: The International General Council Meets Next Week

In the next few days, Paris will host new meetings of the International General Council of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.

On March 2nd, members of the International Commission for Aid and Development (CIAD), chaired by Graham West (Australia), will be meeting to analyze and discuss the allocation of economic resources to a variety of social projects proposed by Superior Councils.

On March 3rd, the Permanent Committee meeting will be held. Attendees will analyze a possible change of headquarters of the General Council.

On March 4th, the quarterly meeting of the CGI board will be held, chaired by Lima de Oliveira, the 16th General President. On the agenda there are many topics to be discussed in the agenda, namely, the meetings to be held by the General Council in Porto (Portugal), next June.

On the same day, March 4th, in the afternoon, the International Regional Vice-Presidents (ITVP) will attend a workshop conducted by Júlio César Marques de Lima (the International Regional Vice-President for the Third American Region). This session will focus on best practices of regional vice-presidents.

Our President, Renato, pointed out: “I am sure our discussions will be enlightened by Divine Providence and this will lead to good decision-making. Hence, God willing,all our meetings will bear fruit for the greater glory of God, and for the sake of Society. The General Council strives to improve the management of our organization and also proposes new projects,”
