Amin de Tarrazi: A Life Well Lived

by | Jan 10, 2019 | News, Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would not have flourished as it did during the past decades had it have been for Bro. Amin.

His life was the Society. The Society was his life. He dedicated his life to minister on behalf of countless men and women who were in need.

He joined the Society 70 years ago. He was the Youth Representative at the CGI during the 1960’s, the National President of the Council in France from 1967 to 1981, and the CGI President from 1981 to 1993.

His tenure of service as CGI President did not stop him from being an active servant in the society. He was whole-hearted in fulfilling even in the most insignificant work. He was a man enflamed with God’s love, a love that led him to become a committed and passionate Vincentian.

Rest in peace now dear Bro. Amin. It is time to be in God’s presence and reap the fruits of your good works.

“His master replied, ‘well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness.’’’ (NIV) Matthew 25:21

Amin died at age 90 in the Ambroise-Paré hospital, in Boulogne-Billancourt.
