Sister Nirmala and the Fight for a TB free India

by | Jul 24, 2018 | News, Sisters of Charity

Sister Nirmala Mulackal’s work to raise awareness of the devastating health, social, and economic consequences of tuberculosis (TB) and her efforts to end the TB epidemic with the Coalition for Aids and Related Diseases is featured in their latest video.

Despite significant progress over the last decades, TB continues to be the top infectious killer worldwide, claiming over 4,500 lives a day.

Sister Nirmala is currently working to help end TB through a network of Catholic Health Facilities and social service organizations across 19 states of India. Through their intervention, they are building up the community and helping them to sustain themselves. They continue to march forward in bringing health and well-being to people and ending TB forever.
