On Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the parish of La Nativité de la Sainte Vierge in Montreal, Canada, we had the privilege of celebrating the 400th anniversary of the Vincentian Charism.

Archbishop Msgr. L’Épine  presided at the celebration with 20 priests of the diocese, the priests of the Congregation of the Mission, the Daughters of Charity, the Vincentian Permanent Deacons and their wives, and many religious communities and Associations who have the rules of St. Vincent and/or claim him as their patron. such as The Sisters of Providence and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and many others. Many parishioners, families and friends also were present.  In all, we were about 600 gathered in thanksgiving to glorify God for the gift of Saint Vincent and his charism of evangelization and charity for the poor.

The congregation was sent forth to continue the mission  of Saint Vincent by being given a little bread with a scripture passage to give to someone who could you some comfort and love, and thus sharing the Bread and the Word.

The celebration continued following the Mass with a wine and cheese party.  The entire celebration was a joyful, inspirational and memorable experience for all!
