Sisters of Charity: Rebuilding Lives with Love

by | Jan 27, 2017 | Formation, News, Reflections, Sisters of Charity | 1 comment

We are always on mission. We are always trying to live, be and do what being a Sister of Charity is all about. Because this is who we are. In our good days and our bad days, we are sisters of Charity. – Sr. Jane Iannucelli, SC President

Enjoy the video and description below on the Bicentennial Celebration of the Sisters of Charity of New York:

On August 13, 1817, Elizabeth Ann Seton sent three Sisters to New York to serve the growing number of orphans resulting from the cholera epidemic and the poverty of the newly arrived immigrants.

For 200 years we have seen and recognized the needs of each generation. The Sisters of Charity, the city, the state, and the Church have grown together over these two hundred years. What joy and cause for rejoicing are the stories that can be told! It is our hope that together we may continue to reveal God’s love to those in need, especially those on the margins.

Beautifully presented, Sister Jane and Sister Regina. Congratulations on 200 Years to all of the Sisters of Charity who live their name day by day in every place they live and move and breathe. You are part of a glorious heritage of Elizabeth Ann Seton. She is so proud of you.
