Lukefahr

Father Oscar Lukefahr, leader of the Association of the Miraculous Medal based in Perryville, MO, died at the end of a very brief illness. He was diagnosed with cancer in mid-July.) The website states…

For several years as our Spiritual Director, Father Luke has encouraged us to remain joyful through life’s difficulties, offering up our suffering as a share in Christ’s redemption. He taught us in his writing, his preaching, and now by his example, to embrace Christian death as birth into eternal life with God.

Father Luke faithfully practiced what he preached, and his suffering has come to an end. Father passed away on August 10, 2015 with family at his side. He was wearing his Miraculous Medal.

Father Michael Joyce, a member and priest of the Congregation of the Mission since 1974, will continue Father Luke’s loving work.

Fr Luke. What a witness to faith, family, committment, and the Catholic Priesthood. Fr Luke was a runner and our pastor at MPB for many years in Denver, CO. He raised money for the elementary school, did Parish renewals, and taught all the time, and sometimes used words.
We love you Fr Luke and just heard last night about your passing. What a loss for us but a tremendous homecoming for a worker in the field for Christ
