Why is a Systemic Change mentality important?

sys-chg-featured-facebookWhy is a Systemic Change mentality important? This is a question asked by Fr. Robert Maloney, CM in a Presentation offered on VinFormation.

Here are two reasons you may not have thought about:

1) The Church is calling us to a New Evangelization. But evangelization loses much of its effectiveness if it does not take into consideration the entire system or realities of the people to whom it is addressed; if it does not use their language, their signs, their symbols; if it does not answer the questions they ask. If we are to follow Christ as Evangelizer of the Poor, a systems mentality is important.

2) There were many “seeds” of Systemic Change in the life and works of St. Vincent de Paul. If we seek to model ourselves after St. Vincent, we should examine these seeds and incorporate them into our own mind set.
