December 1st was World AIDS Day. The Daughters of Charity have long been addressing HIV/AIDS, particularly in Africa through a holistic program of education, testing and treatment know as project DREAM, which stands for Drug Resource Enhancement Against AIDS and Malnutrition. DREAM has been recognized by the World Health Organization as an extremely comprehensive and effective program, particularly for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS (PMTCT).
