Goals

  1. To educate our membership about the United Nations and the role of NGOs
  2. To bring together various branches of the Vincentian Family to facilitate collaboration

Other topics will be presented based on the interest of participants; they indicate their areas of interest on the registration form. Examples include: peace, care of the earth, violence against women and children, women’s issues, immigration, etc.

We also include a mission visit and, if possible, a tour of the UN.

Time is allotted throughout the program for discussion and interaction among participants.

Speakers

Those of us who represent the Vincentian Family at the UN (Faith Colligan, Pat Connolly, Marie Elena Dio, Joe Foley, Germaine Price and Caroljean Willie) all give input on the various topics. We also ask our colleagues who have expertise in different fields to give presentations.

Length of Program

The program extends from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM for two days and from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the third day.

Cost

Each participant is responsible for his/her own transportation and housing. We charge $100 for the program. This money provides breakfast and lunch each day for all participants, snacks, a stipend for presenters and a donation to ICO.

Place – will be held at the International Catholic Organization Center located in Holy Family Church, 47th Street, NYC.
