The St Vincent de Paul Society in Holbrook  (Australia) has been recognised for their aide to flood victims by receiving a federal government grant of $25,000 over the next three years. Sister Monica said “The government has probably recognised that Holbrook is in need because of the floods and given the grant to us to use wisely for the people affected by the floods.

As volunteers for Holbrook’s St Vincent de Paul, Sister Marie McAllister and Sister Monica Montague have been helping the people of Holbrook for a number of years. In addition to their day-to-day assistance for people in need, the two women have been extremely busy helping those who were flood affected around the region.

This in not the first time the government has recognized the outstanding work of the SVDP.
