A Spiritual Reflection Day

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me…”

Colorado Vincentian Volunteers are planning a collaborative event for the Vincentian groups in Denver. The event is focused on “Welcoming the Stranger – Moving beyond Fear”.  This is not a conference, but a spiritual day of reflection with the pattern as follows:

  • A person sharing their story of hospitality or of NOT being welcomed as a stranger
  • Reflection on the story at the tables
  • Response to the story and to the reflections by Fr. Memo Campuzano

People who will share their stories:

  1. A woman who has been in prison and is now finding success after release;
  2. An immigrant who has just recently (after 8 years here) gotten her green card;
  3. A young black man speaking to “Black Lives Matter.”

The groups that are involved on this spiritual reflection day are Vincentian Priests and Brothers, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, Center for Spirituality at Work, Colorado Vincentian Volunteers, and Sisters of Charity and Associates.

This event will be held at Loyola Parish-2301 York St. Denver on April 1, 2017, from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.
