    Dear Sister Kathleen Appler,

Assurance of prayers as you begin your new mission. From today you will be remembered aloud in my Daughters of Charity section during the intercessions of Evening Prayer. A long section, filled with the names of many cherished friends, living and deceased. Our family’s friendship with the Daughters goes back to 12 January 1944 when my aunt and godmother entered the community at Emmitsburg at the age of seventeen.

May the Lord who has begun this good work in you bring it to fulfillment!
