SCIC elect new leadership circle

Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception elected a new leadership circle at their Chapter July 5-11 in Greater Saint John, New Brunswick.

Anita Holmes, SCIC completed her second consecutive term on the leadership circle. All are of Greater Saint John, where 41 SCIC delegates from eastern and western Canada, Peru and Ireland gathered for Chapter. SCIC prayer supporters were also consulted at their places of residence about their hopes for Chapter and for leadership circle members. The 2014 Chapter theme was “Surrendering . . . Embracing Transformation.”

While Brenda Peddigrew, RSM facilitated the Chapter, Barbara Baker facilitated a concurrent gathering of SCIC Associate representatives from western and eastern Canada. Ms. Baker is an Associate and staff member of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul based in Kingston, Ontario. During Chapter, the SCIC presented their 2014-18 directional statement to Associates, while Associates presented their new directional statement to Sisters.
