During one of the sessions, Bro. Jos Mathijssen was given the opportunity to describe the situation of inclusion in Belgium. “There are many similarities between the Belgian and Indian approach with regard to inclusion, but the preparatory process and government support differ”, concludes Bro. Jos Mathijssen.
During his stay in India, the coordinator also seized the opportunity to visit Param Mitra Sadan, the psychiatric facility of the Brothers of Charity in Ranchi, and the primary school for underprivileged children in Simalia. Many of the school’s pupils are former child labourers. The school was built with the financial support of Caraes’ “South Action”, the annual campaign of the Belgian NGO for development cooperation of the Brothers of Charity.
