Dear Friends, Christmas blessings from all of us in Thigio!

For 12 days this Christmas we celebrate all those whom God has called us to serve and we pray for you for supporting us in serving them. Sing along with us these revised words of the Christmas carol: “On the first day of Christmas, our good God gave to me…,” and know that we are praying for you as you pray for us and our people.

On the first day of Christmas, our Good God gave to me,

40 poor and vulnerable three – six year olds in the Nursery.
We nourish their minds and bodies with learning and food.

On the second day of Christmas, our Good God gave to me

50 primary school children in After-School Tutoring
We give them food, tutoring and a listening ear.

On the third day of Christmas, our Good God gave to me,

16 mentally challenged young people in Kisima
They daily grow in self-esteem and independence.

and two dozen who are learning the Computer

On the seventh day of Christmas, my Good God gave to me,

10 poor, vulnerable women in the Development Program

They enrich their lives learning sewing, needlework, knitting, and cookery as well as deepening their belief in themselves.

On the eighth day of Christmas, my good God gave to me

37 Elderly poor

They come weekly for tea, lunch, conversation, exercise, massage, bimonthly chiropody and special loving kindness.

On the ninth day of Christmas, my Good God gave to me

HIV/AIDs patients whom the nurse from Home-Based Care visits and personally cares for with reverence and skilled attention.

On the tenth day of Christmas, my Good God gave to me

Dozens of adults, children, babies who come for Physiotherapy

They gain or regain bodily strength.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, my Good God gave to me
A Dispensary where local people come for all their health needs:

babies for vaccination; adults for testing for illnesses, medicines and treatments; Tuesday is HIV clinic day
On the twelfth day of Christmas, our Good God gave to me

Our Lady’s Hospice. Nine seriously ill men, women and children will be welcomed January, 2010 for special end-of-life care.

May God bless the work of our hands, and may God bless all the hands that have helped us with this work.

We are grateful to you and for you. It is because of you that we are able to do what we are able to do. May you have a joyful Christmas. Thank you for gifting us throughout the year with your support.
